ARTS AND EDUCATION

EDUCATIONAL VISITS

Primary and Secondary School visits can be made to Freswick Castle for educational trips, focusing on history, ecology and wildlife.  Creative arts days or special events can be organised for all ages from 7 – 18, from April 2014 onwards.

In 2014, Freswick Castle hopes to launch special education events of its own, with film, theatre, poetry, visual arts, history, ecology, science and religion all being offered in a variety of options.  Watch this space…

In the meantime, school groups can book the Castle for an educational school trip within their own curriculum but the Castle owner, Murray Watts and any visiting artists may be available to speak to school children as part of their experience.

RESIDENTIAL COURSES

Residential courses for up to 15 people are planned from April 2014.

These courses will cover a variety of the creative arts, ranging from an introductory to a master-class level, and established directors, screenwriters, poets, novelists, actors, comedians, visual artists and musicians will contribute.

There will also be courses in communication skills and public speaking, arts and spirituality, and exploring literature, music and art history.

Courses will be advertised nationally and internationally and details will be available on this site from September 2013.

NON-RESIDENTIAL
ARTS COURSES

There are plans for film-making, poetry, theatre and visual arts workshops for schools and the Caithness community to be held as one and two-day events.

Courses will be advertised locally and details will be available on this site.
