WEDDINGS

For the first time in its very long history, Freswick Castle will be taking a small number of wedding bookings from May 2014. Special deals are available for people living in Caithness and Sutherland.

A ROMANTIC SETTING

Freswick Castle is an idyllic location for a wedding, with its romantic setting on the edge of the sea, the huge walled garden and the ancient hall and lounge with their grand open fireplaces.

A small wedding reception of around 60-70 guests can easily be accommodated within the Castle itself, but a marquee in the walled garden could offer a reception for up to 200 guests. Smaller wedding services, or larger services within a marquee or in the open air, can be held at Freswick Castle by special arrangement.

INSPIRING LOCATION

There are many inspiring places for memorable photos, including the stone stairway in the Castle courtyard, pictured here, the bridge over the burn, the wide spiral staircase and the ancient vaulted ‘Viking Hall’. There is even a small candlelit chapel for a more intimate and thoughtful portrait and the walled garden is ideal for group photographs, with its stunning views across Freswick Bay.

ACCOMODATION

3 Bedrooms are available on site in the guest cottage, in addition to the bridal suite in the Castle. The refectory can also be made available for a wedding breakfast or intimate dinner party for up to 20 people.

CATERING

Freswick Castle, with its facilities, is available as an inspiring location.  For catering, we are in partnership with Mackays Hotel and we warmly recommend their services for excellent prices and high quality, although wedding parties may self-cater or choose other location catering services, and will need to hire their own marquees.
