Freswick Castle is the perfect place for a holiday in grand style. The Castle has many open fires, an intimate kitchen-dining room for 15-20, a walled garden, and the wild gardens on the seaward side of the castle leading down to the beach with ideal locations for barbecues beside the Freswick Burn, as it tumbles into the rolling waves.

The Castle can be rented as a whole site, including the guest cottage, for house parties of around 12-15 people. Currently, the Castle has a 2 bedroom luxury apartment, along with 5 other en-suite bedrooms. The guest cottage is a simple and cosy environment (containing an additional library of 6000 books), with three bedrooms,
all sharing one bathroom.

The maximum number who can stay on-site is in the region of 15 -18,

but the optimum is 10-12.

As well as being a great place for walks along the beach, there are easy car journeys from Freswick Castle to the local beauty spots such as the Stacks at Duncansby and the wild, most northerly peninsula of Dunnet Head

Daily wild-life cruises, boat trips, and ferries to Orkney are all part of the attraction of the Far North holiday. The fascinating Wick Heritage Centre and the Old Pultney Distillery in Wick, and the Caithness Horizons museum in Thurso, are among a variety of local treats.

Three miles away, at John O’Groats,  there is an excellent licensed café with beautiful views across the sea, and a variety of quality shops, including the classy Outfitters, Edinburgh Woollen Mill and the John O’Groats Pottery. For golf lovers, there are excellent links courses at Wick and Reay
